DEADLINE INTERVIEW - 07-19-2010

Streetammo sat down with one half of Deadline, NA, who is based in NYC, to find out everything about the bi-coastal label.

SA: When did you decide to launch a clothing label and why?
NA: We Launched Deadline in 2007, Our reason for the launch would have to be that we both seen a gap in this industry that needed to be filled and by gap i mean that not to many people were putting out clean yet hard graphics.

SA: What's your role in the company, and who else is involved?
NA: My role is to be the face of the company, public relations and keep those "cool" guy's in the streets and at the party's wearing our stuff, JunBug does the same and is more of the business side of the company. He keeps the ball rolling.

SA: Did you have prior experience in the industry?
NA: I grew up in this industry aside from some others, all the somebody's that are somebody in this industry have dealt with me in the past or will be dealing with me in the future, so you either know me or heard of me if you're in this industry.

SA: Where do you find inspiration?
NA: Music, movies, art, books, streets, friends, clubs, etc. My personal favorite is looking at the sky and just thinking of new ideas...

SA: Where do you live and how does that play into the style of the brand?
NA: I live in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, New York, and that plays a major part in the style of the brand cause I'm from the hood and if you look at what we do, it kind of caters to that.

SA: What's the motto/manifesto/concept behind the brand?
NA: To keep it as real as we can in front and behind the scene.

SA: Who is the Deadline customer?
NA: You, him, her, them over there, we want everybody who is somebody and even if you're nobody, we would love to have you as a customer.

SA: What are some of the major milestones for the company from getting started up until today?
NA: In this day and age I would have to say even just still being in business is a major milestone, with the recession and everything that's going on.

SA: True. What music is on heavy rotation at the office?
NA: Over on this side we stay playing that Cam'ron, Fabolous, BIG, PAC, LOX and CNN of course.

SA: What do you like to get into when you're not running the label?
NA: I like to sk8 thru the city or just chill at a park and watch the girls walk by. Sometimes I'll hit this spot "Sw__t n Vic__s" and burn one in the yard and have a frozen margarita. Don't wanna blow it up cause then unwanted people start to show up...

SA: What's on the horizon for the brand?
NA: To expand, excite and explode right before your eye's...

Youtube makes my day! - 07-06-2010

Gino Iannucci  is considered to be one of the best skaters around. He has made several parts which are revered as legendary, and his style is certainly extraordinary. Unfortunately, we haven't seen much from him in the last 5 years. Recently though, he was featured in a Mighty Healthy ad in a skateboard mag. Hopefully this means he's back, and that the rumors that he has a full part in the new Chocolate video are true! Check out his part in Yeah Right...
